I wandered lost among the fallen angels
shimmering light ghosting across the water
remnants left from some long forgotten battle
these wings, marked by giant thumbprints
when a mighty hand tore them from their owners
shivering, I make my way past, looking for the doorway
some path, maybe, to return me back to earth
for I don’t belong here, among the mighty vanquished
I am just a Dorothy, Oz is fine for a while but home is best
an aroma spins me round, there that is the way
following the smell of fresh baked cookies, I find my bed
laying down, I wake up
