Haibun Road Roundup Week 15

Haibun Road Writing Challenge Roundup Week 15

We are finishing up the fifteenth week of Haibun Road, a weekly haibun challenge . I invited you to write a short paragraph and a haiku inspired by Basho as he passes through the Shirakawa barrier and writes haiku stanzas with this companions in Oku no Hosomichi (translated most often as Narrow Road to the North or Narrow Road to the Interior).

This week we had two haibuns from Sgeoil and myself.

Canadian Rockies by Sgeoil, did a wonderful haibun on the Rockies.

Haibun : myriad murals jamming by Cactus Haiku loved the murals in a San Francisco grocery parking lot.

I hope you enjoyed or will enjoy reading them and that you will join us in our next haibun challenge (will be posted about 11pm Arizona Time Monday or early Tuesday A.M.). Haibuns can be any time during the week as pingbacks or pasted into comments. If you are on a social network, just paste your haibun’s link. If you don’t have a blog, feel free to paste in the haibun as a comment.

You can use the Amazon search bar to do any search at Amazon. Today I tried “mountain poetry” after trying “haibun” which worked. Weirdly haibun didn’t return any results but once I used the search engine to go to Amazon, and redid a search on “haibun” I did get a list including these anthologies: Journeys 2017: An Anthology of International Haibun, KYSO Flash Anthology of Haibun and Tanka Forms 2015, and Under the Ginkgo Tree: An Anthology of Traditional Japanese Short Form Poetry.
