Haibun : myriad murals jamming the parking lot walls, Grocery Outlet, Mission District, San Francisco
Roaming San Francisco’s Mission District, eyes feasting on imagination. I peer into a Grocery Outlet parking lot. Murals jam against each other on the walls, open mic night for the arts with a kaleidoscope of visions from political to surreal jostling each other as shoppers hop out of their cars. This place a giant box of crayola colors splashed on Tom Sawyer’s white fence; the vibrant colors tell you you have passed beyond Kansas’s borders. Even Oz would sit up in wonder.
