Haibun Road Roundup Week 14

Haibun Road Writing Challenge Roundup Week 14

We are finishing up the fourteenth week of Haibun Road, a weekly haibun challenge . I invited you to write a short paragraph and a haiku inspired by Basho as he reaches the barrier-gate at Shirakawa in Oku no Hosomichi (translated most often as Narrow Road to the North or Narrow Road to the Interior).

This week we had four haibuns from SketchingWords and myself.

Haibun Road week 14 by Sketchingwords.com, did a wonderful haibun about a trail.

Haibun : Lupin Lodge by Cactus Haiku does a travel haibun visiting Lupin Lodge, a clothing-optional retreat.

I hope you enjoyed or will enjoy reading them and that you will join us in our next haibun challenge (will be posted about 11pm Arizona Time). Haibuns can be any time during the week as pingbacks or pasted into comments.

You can use the Amazon search bar to do any search at Amazon. Today I gave “walking poetry” a shot. First I tried “walking poems” but the results were weird including a sewing-machine pedal. Scratches my head, trying to figure out what a sewing-machine pedal has to do with poems.
