Haibun Road Roundup Week 9

Haibun Road Writing Challenge Roundup Week 9

We are finishing up the ninth week of Haibun Road, a weekly haibun challenge from two weeks.  I invited you to write a short paragraph and a haiku inspired by the by Basho as he returned a horse, visited with some friends and some local historical places in Oku no Hosomichi (translated most often as Narrow Road to the North or Narrow Road to the Interior).

This week we had two haibuns from Sgeoil and myself.

Yearning to travel by Cactus Haiku feeling that traveling is a state of mind.

I hope you enjoyed or will enjoy reading them and that you will join us in our next haibun challenge (will be posted about 11pm Arizona Time). Haibuns can be any time during the week as pingbacks or pasted into comments.

You can use the Amazon search bar to do any search at Amazon. Today’s search term was “traveling”. Notice I spelled it with one L.  I also tried it with two LLs and found I got different results although there is some overlap.  Surprised me.  For people interested in search strategies, I am including the second results below with two LLs so you can see it too. Merriam-Webster says it’s ok the spelling of traveling or travelling is correct but Oxford insists only travelling is right.  I am betting travelling is the older form but modern spelling is migrating towards traveling.
