Heat nonfat milk slowly with ginger, stir in chocolate, pour in espresso. (You can use whole milk.  I’m just used to nonfat these days). Foam up some milk especially if latte art is your forte. Non-fat milk makes good foam. Cinnamon is a plus.

I do love homemade mochas. How about you? What’s your favorite at-home dressed-up coffee drink?

Ginger health benefits

Ginger health benefits: reduces muscle pain caused by exercise if drunk everyday (study showed 2g a day for 11 days reduced pain) but ginger has to be in your system as it’s an anti-inflammatory. Just drinking it right after you excercise and have pain doesn’t work. It’s a daily thing, not a fast-acting med.

Ginger’s anti-inflammatory properties also reduces pain from osteoarthritis. Plus one study showed a solution of ginger, mastic, cinnamon and sesame oil reduced pain and stiffness in osteoarthritis when applied to the skin. I bet it smelled good too.

Ginger lowers fasting blood sugar, lowers cholesterol, reduces risk factors for heart disease, helps lower the risk of infection, and inhibits the growth of certain types of bacteria.

In a study where women had ginger for the first three days of their period, ginger reduced menstrual pain as much as ibuprofen.

Again in another study with women, ginger was shown to improve reaction time and working memory

I’ve always drank ginger in my tea but lately I’ve been adding it to my coffee. It’s yummy and look at all the good thing it does for you! (Plus coffee and chocolate have their own benies) So what do you like to put ginger in?
