Senryu : carousels

I love carousels: the bright colors, the happy sounds, children laughing and waving.

Funny thing though, in the beginning carousels were a war training game. It was good practice for knights to spear the hanging rings. That seriousness evolved into the fun ride we love today, a hopeful metaphor that war can be replaced with a joyful peace

Carousels are wonderful symbols depending on how you look at them. Carefree happy childhood. A lovely romance. Constant goal chasing. And yes, even, exulting in the endless pursuit of Happiness.

I dribble chocolate on my foam, trying to make an apple but it comes out more like a demented christmas tree ornament. But I’m happy to just be doing it. Like a ride on a carousel, it’s fun.

What did you do today that was just fun?

At “Ragtag Community“, different people present a prompt each day of the week. Join us by posting writing or images evoked by the word and add your pingback or link to the comments there. Hope to see you at Ragtag Community!

FYI: if anyone would like to do Saturday prompts and can be consistent about posting early morning Saturday European time, you can takeover my Saturday prompts.  I no longer have insomnia so I’m not up at the right time any more. Thanks.
