Haiku : smirk & crepuscule

the sun smirks, sinking
dim crepuscule light deepens
gloaming precedes night

haiku by M. Nakazato LaFreniere

I love the twilight.  Disneyland’s glowing blue as stars quietly appear one by one.  The in-between time, neither day nor night. A poem on the tip of the mind disappearing/emerging. Cocktails sipped on verandas. Soft clinking of glasses and quiet conversations.  The last paintbrush stroke as the final light says good-bye. Darkness falls. Stepping out from the sun’s dominion, emboldened stars begin to dance.
