HealthyWage Loss Grapheach day check my weight
it’s gradually going down
challenge, not promise

Some of you know I’ve started the HealthyWage challenge.  I bet $30 a month (about the price of a gym membership which I had but didn’t go so I cancelled), that I would lose 65 pounds in 6 months.  That fear of losing the money as well as a liking for stickers and awards has kicked a greater resolve.

So far I’ve been losing weight gradually but consistently each day which actually surprised me.  My scale does decimal points so I can see if I lose less than a pound which is helpful.

Generally when I start something like this, since I am also starting an exercise plan at the same time, I don’t lose weight or gain a little and then have a sudden drop.  Maybe I’m not gaining any muscle this time?

I am being semi-good.  Most days I walk around the mall — not all days.  I am adding exercise into my days. Most days I stick to the food plan — not everyday.  But I am ok with most days.  It’s more about changing my thinking to live healthier, not to be a temporary gung-ho Spartan.  I don’t want to crash and burn after a month. I am a little OCD about it though at the moment. My Personalized Weight Loss Challenge is hopefully going to be a permanent lifestyle change.  Crossing my fingers.

HealthyWage gave me a blue 2% weight loss award today.  Yay!  My stomach is whining but I am eyeing the 4% award.  I promise my stomach I’ll give it a salad once I’m done with this post.  Now it’s sulking.  Geez, it’s a spoiled brat.

Disclosure:  I went ahead and signed up as a HealthyWage affiliate.  If you join through the links above, I’ll get a commission.  However, they also have a friends link, if you join up by clicking this friends link, it adds a $40 to your HealthyWager award if you complete your goal and $40 to my HealthyWager award if I complete my goal.  We don’t get the $40 if we fail.  I think the $40 is for HealthyWager challenges only and not the other ones like the 6% individual challenge or the team challenge. The HealthyWage affiliate link doesn’t matter if anyone succeeds but there is no benefit for the friend, just for the affiliate no matter what kind of challenge they join. I think joining through the friends link also lets you view your friend on the dashboard: you’ll see their name and what % they’ve lost so far but not the actual weight.  That’s private unless you make it public.

A CBS Atlanta News on a couple of betting weight loss sites including HealthyWage.  Both people who were interviewed in person who did lose weight wagered on the HealthyWage site.
