Poem : i wandered lost among the fallen angels

I wandered lost among the fallen angels
shimmering light ghosting across the water
remnants left from some long forgotten battle
these wings, marked by giant thumbprints
when a mighty hand tore them from their owners
shivering, I make my way past, looking for the doorway
some path, maybe, to return me back to earth
for I don’t belong here, among the mighty vanquished
I am just a Dorothy, Oz is fine for a while but home is best
an aroma spins me round, there that is the way
following the smell of fresh baked cookies, I find my bed
laying down, I wake up

and since I do a daily haiku: here is an erasure version

wandered lost, ghosting
some long forgotten battle
smell cookies! wake up!

Second Life has a special art grant program where artists submit an application proposing an art installation which they build on the LEA sim.  This “Morning Star” installation about the fall of Lucifer by Fox Nacht existed from May 1 – June 30, 2016.  It starts high in the heavens, a really long drop and you crash here among these broken wings.  An arched path leads off to a reading room referencing John Milton’s Paradise Lost, Lord Byron’s Cain, and William Blake’s The Marriage of Heaven. Prim Doll’s post “LEA 11: Lucifer Morningstar ” shows more of the exhibit.

I have signed up as an Amazon affiliate so I may get a small payment if anyone buys anything by clicking a link. The sheet said 4.5% if it’s a book. I earned $3 in September and $3.41 in October so not going to get rich anytime soon, lol.  I think Amazon requires this next quote but I’ve noticed on some sites they have written their own personal text so I’m not sure. “We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.”
