Alice Lidell inspired Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. When she was 10, on a boat with her sisters (Edith and Lorina) and Charles Dodgson aka Lewis Carroll, she asked Dodgson to tell them a story.  He told them the story of Alice.   She asked him to make it into a book for her which he did but also sent the manuscript to a publisher.
